Hopefully I didn’t start as I meant to go on… I missed my 7:56am train by 2 minutes despite living 1 Mike from the train station.
I headed back home and managed to get back in plenty of time for the 10am train.
Sadly, this time round, I didn’t get the train again, however this time it wasn’t my fault.
There were already 4 bikes on the little train so we (me and 2 other riders I met at the station), hastily made a plan and got the next train to Swansea, then another train to Narberth and ride the 29 miles to the campsite from there.
Nothing like a leg opener before the race.
Disaster almost struck again where I nearly left my phone on the train in my haste to not miss the connection but thankfully someone pointed it out to me.

The ride to the start was sunny and lumpy and despite me telling myself I wouldn’t get burned on Day 1 of the race, I decided to get a little pink on Day 0 of the race.
We made it to the campsite in plenty of time but forgot the deposit money for the tracker so another unexpected ride down to St David’s was in order.
A quick chips from the chippy and a look at the cathedral and we headed back to the campsite.

The evening was spent chatting to other riders and gathering around the fire before getting into my Bivvy for a surprisingly cold night sleep.
Nothing like challenges to begin with ..good luck
